Christina Cruz Hiracheta had been teaching for over 9 years with experience in 5th grade Science (3yrs) and 2nd grade (4 years self contained; 2 years blocked ELA). She has also been the coordinator for Family Science Night since it started in Taft ISD in 2006. She has also been involved with the Diocese of Corpus Christi and Youth Ministry since 1999, as well as on the local level as a CCD teacher. (First Grade & High School Girls) Christina Cruz Hiracheta has been involved continuously in professional groups, volunteer organizations, faith and family affiliations. She is currently the Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013 for Woodroe Petty Elementary and the 2013 District Teacher of the Year. Her professional interests include continuously staying up to date on reading research, looking for and trying best practices in the classroom, as well as ongoing action based research in the classroom.
